Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is a popular and easy-to-care-for houseplant.
Here are some tips to help it thrive:
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
Watering:
Water when the top inch or two of the soil is dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage. In low light, reduce watering frequency.
Humidity:
Golden Pothos tolerates normal household humidity levels, but it will grow faster with higher humidity. Misting occasionally or placing it near a humidifier can help.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is between 60-85°F (15-29°C). Protect from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil:
Well-draining, all-purpose potting soil is best. It doesn’t require special soil conditions but avoid compacted or overly heavy mixes.
Fertilization:
Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Pruning:
Trim leggy vines to encourage bushier growth and to maintain a tidy shape. You can also propagate cuttings in water or soil.
Repotting:
Pothos will outgrow its pot over time. Repot every 1-2 years or when it becomes root-bound.
With these simple care guidelines, Golden Pothos should flourish and be an attractive, low-maintenance addition to your home!
